Delete Your Account
You can delete your Once Upon a Me account and all associated data at any time. Here’s how.
Delete in the app
- Open the Once Upon a Me app and sign in.
- Tap the Me tab (your profile).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the two prompts. We’ll email you a recovery link right away.
Request deletion by email
If you’ve already removed the app, email us from the address on your account and we’ll delete it for you. We action every request within 30 days and email you to confirm.

What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your account and login details
- Every child profile you created (names, ages, interests, content settings)
- All generated stories, illustrations, and audio narration
- Your children’s cartoon avatars and any reference photos still on file
- Household membership and any carer invitations
Your children’s original photos are already deleted within 24 hours of avatar creation — they are never kept long-term. Active subscriptions are cancelled automatically.
What we keep, and why
A minimal amount of data is retained only where the law requires it:
- Payment records — kept for 7 years to meet accounting and tax obligations. These hold transaction amounts and dates, never your card details (we never store those).
- Anonymised usage events — already stripped of personal identifiers, retained up to 12 months and then purged.
Changed your mind? Deletion has a 30-day recovery window. Click the recovery link in the email we send you to restore your account and every story exactly as you left it. After 30 days, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
